As The Bad Bunzlauer wrote over the weekend:

3:12 p.m. A young man on a scooter, without a helmet, flies through a red light in front of the bonnets of vehicles travelling from Kubika towards Gdańska. If any of the drivers had set off energetically immediately after the amber light, he would have been hit cleanly. Fortunately, here the first drivers usually set off five seconds after the green light comes on.

He added: – Be careful, especially now that it is warm, because you can get into serious trouble involving the police and problems with receiving compensation (...).

Unfortunately, this is not a new issue. Let us recall. On 19 April, we quoted a post from The Bad Bunzlauer:

There used to be gangs: rockers on Harleys, mods on scooters. In the age of TikTok... I don’t know, maybe scooterists?

The recording shows a group of children riding scooters across virtually the entire width of the lane. At one point, one of them – completely nonchalantly – crosses a double solid line and moves into the opposite lane.

A forum user left a telling comment beneath the recording:

I also have a recording of these boys’ antics. They rode in front of cars, attacked and kicked the cars of drivers who called them out. I have photos and recordings; if the injured person is reading this, please contact me privately. The report will also be sent to the police, because it is not normal for children aged 8–15 to kick cars and ride in front of vehicles in the city centre.

Unfortunately, this is not a new issue. Last September, we wrote that we had received two reports about the same matter in a single day. The first Reader:

Please address the issue of a group of young people on bicycles and scooters. They gathered on the lawn by Asnyka Street, where there used to be a ceramic fountain, and then set off down the town towards the Market Square at high speed. The incident took place at around 6 p.m.

And commented:

It is frightening to leave the house because of groups of youths “terrorising” pedestrians on the pavements.

He also added:

I am an able-bodied person, but what are older people supposed to do when, due to health limitations, they are unable to get out of the way of a speeding scooter or bicycle?

At the head of the group rode a young man who used his horn, and thanks to this no one was injured.

The Reader noted that he had discussed this with a policewoman, but she happened to be occupied with another intervention.

Around 1.5 hours later, another Reader wrote to us:

This is how our young people have fun.

And sent us the following video:

We will return to this topic.
