During the April session of the Bolesławiec City Council, President Piotr Roman returned to the issue of the distinctive ZEC pipes running along Wróblewski Street:

As for ZEC, I will say right away that eventually the president will go underground. In other words, soon we will no longer have to look at the pipes, which were one of the distinctive sights in our city.

A green space may be created where the pipes are now

However, the most interesting part of the announcement concerns what will appear after the work is completed. The president revealed that there are plans to develop the reclaimed green area with animal figures. One of the proposals is the return of the iconic elephants, which many residents remember fondly.

But that is not all. There was also a suggestion to install a giraffe and other animals, since, as was pointed out, the space is large enough to consider creating a new Bolesławiec attraction.

The iconic elephants may return

Many Bolesławiec residents still fondly remember the elephants from Wesoła Street. Their disappearance was commented on repeatedly, and, judging by the president’s words, the subject regularly comes up in his conversations with residents.

For now, it is an idea, not a decision

The president stressed that for now this is a concept, not a final decision. The matter is still to be discussed.

If the project goes ahead, Bolesławiec could gain a new green recreational area, while residents could recover something that brought smiles and memories for years.
