There was a tragic accident on Monday, April 13, this year, at approximately 7:00 p.m. – According to the officers’ preliminary findings, the driver of a Chrysler passenger car, a 25-year-old resident of Lubin County, was traveling on the Rudna–Lubin county road when, while overtaking on a straight section of the road, he caused a head-on collision with an Audi traveling correctly – reports Deputy Inspector Sylwia Serafin of the Lubin District Police Headquarters.
The driver of the second vehicle, a 19-year-old resident of Rudna Municipality, died at the scene.
The 25-year-old driver, who was in critical condition, was transported by the Polish Medical Air Rescue Service to a hospital. Unfortunately, he died there after several hours of efforts to save his life.
The police and prosecutor’s office are investigating the causes and circumstances of the tragedy. An expert in road accident reconstruction was also present at the scene.
