The sports field on Graniczna Street in Bolesławiec has been known as “Rowek” for years. It is a place with a history that, for many generations, marked the beginning of a sporting adventure. Today, it is undergoing a thorough transformation intended to restore its significance.

Intensive construction work is underway at the site. The investment is being carried out as part of a project aimed at creating multifunctional activity spaces for residents. It includes both the construction of a sports field on Graniczna Street and an open track for inline skaters and roller skaters on the Bulwar nad Bobrem.

What will be built at “Rowek”?

The scope of work is extensive and includes the complete redevelopment of the existing infrastructure. Demolition work is being carried out in the first stage—the old facilities are disappearing, including a storage building and the existing sports field. A full-size football pitch measuring 110 × 61 metres will be built in their place, with an artificial grass surface allowing the facility to be used year-round.

The new “Rowek” will be not only modern but also fully functional. The project includes the installation of lighting, a sound system and monitoring, which will significantly improve users’ comfort and safety. A stand with 101 seats will also be built, along with dedicated areas for substitute players and referees.

The area around the pitch will also be developed. New access paths and driveways will be created, while the site will be properly shaped and secured with fencing and ball-stop nets. Additional features will include small-scale infrastructure such as bicycle racks, litter bins and information boards.

The investment also includes expanded technical infrastructure: electrical power installations, lighting systems, CCTV monitoring, a sound system, as well as lightning protection and grounding systems.

The project is being carried out by Tamex Obiekty Sportowe S.A. of Warsaw. The investment is worth more than PLN 5.1 million.

When will the work be completed?

The work is scheduled to be completed later this year. The new “Rowek” is intended to become an important point on the city’s sporting map: a place for meetings, activity and future local stories.
