We asked the Bolesławiec Municipal Police about the controversy surrounding cars parked on Fabryczna Street. As the SM commander, Kamila Chalewicz-Pudłowska, informed us, over the past two years 21 reports concerning improper parking at this location had been received.

And she assured us:

In each case, official actions provided for under the Code of Procedure in Petty Offense Cases were taken. Where violations of the law were found, official actions provided for under the Code of Procedure in Petty Offense Cases were taken.

Is parking there legal?

To one of the key questions—whether parking at this specific location complies with the regulations—the commander replied:

Due to the overly general description of the location, it is not possible to provide a precise answer to the question as posed.

But when asked whether such behavior could be considered a violation of the regulations (e.g., blocking access or appropriating public space), she stated:

The criminal-law assessment of the described behavior depends on the exact place where the vehicle is parked.

We also asked the SM to respond to the Reader’s allegation of a “lack of results” from the service’s actions. The commander said: – The Bolesławiec Municipal Police takes intervention measures in accordance with the regulations and within the limits of the applicable law. Furthermore, the Bolesławiec Municipal Police has no influence on the subjective feelings of your readers (emphasis – istotne.pl).

What do you think? We invite you to discuss.

Let us remind you. At the beginning of March, we reported that a Reader had informed us that several of the same cars regularly park in the courtyard on Fabryczna Street in Bolesławiec. “They are always the same drivers,” the person making the report explained.

What surprised our source was that the drivers in question park in the courtyard even on weekends, while there is a parking lot next to it that usually has plenty of free space. And on weekends, it is free of charge.

The man emphasizes that he reported the matter to the Municipal Police repeatedly—back in summer 2024. The result? According to our Reader, “zero.”

The resident of Fabryczna Street wonders whether the drivers in question park there with the Municipal Police’s permission. If so, he would like to know the legal basis. “Is this a parking lot for opportunists?” the Reader asks.

What is more, the man informed us that on February 7, 2026, the fire service wanted to reach a building on Fabryczna Street but could not enter because of a car parked there—which, according to the Reader, was improperly parked.

We asked the Municipal Police and firefighters about the matter. – Based on the operational documentation available from the State Fire Service, it was not confirmed that on February 7, 2026, vehicles parked on Fabryczna Street in Bolesławiec prevented access to the site of the operations – junior brigadier istotne.pl Mateusz Dąbrowa, deputy head of the Bolesławiec County Headquarters of the State Fire Service, explained to

.

And he added:

Consequently, there was also no record of an extended response time or of any danger resulting from difficult access for emergency services.

He also added:

At the same time, it should be emphasized that any vehicle parked contrary to the applicable regulations or outside designated spaces may cause difficulties in conducting rescue and firefighting operations. In particular, improperly parked vehicles may restrict or prevent emergency-service vehicles, including fire-protection units, from passing, which directly affects the level of safety of residents.
