At the request of the District Prosecutor’s Office in Jelenia Góra, the court ordered the two-month pre-trial detention of a 38-year-old resident of Karkonosze County, suspected of persistently harassing a colleague from work, as well as threatening him and four other co-workers with assault and murder.
– The proceedings established that from 2024 to March 25, 2026, while employed at one of the plants in Jelenia Góra, the perpetrator persistently harassed a colleague from work – explains Ewa Węglarowicz-Makowska of the District Prosecutor’s Office in Jelenia Góra. – To this end, he repeatedly insulted him using words commonly regarded as abusive, went to his home, threatened to assault him, and repeatedly violated his bodily integrity by striking him in the face with an open hand.
Moreover, in February 2026, he tripped the victim, causing him to fall, then punched him twice in the arm and kicked him twice in the hip. The spokesperson said: – This behavior caused the victim to feel tormented and threatened and significantly violated his privacy.
The investigation also found that during conversations at the workplace, the man threatened four other co-workers with assault and murder. The prosecutor said:
The victims feared that these threats would be carried out, especially since in autumn 2024 the suspect severely beat one of them, causing bodily injuries that resulted in a health disorder lasting more than seven days.
The man was charged. He faces up to eight years in prison.
The man did not plead guilty to the offenses with which he was charged. He provided explanations.
He had previously been convicted and had served a prison sentence for similar offenses.
