On March 26, a ceremonial assembly was held at Marshal Józef Piłsudski Square in Bolesławiec to mark the holiday of the 23rd Silesian Artillery Regiment.

The ceremony provided an opportunity to present distinctions, promotions and decorations.

The new banner of the 23rd Silesian Artillery Regiment, funded by Bolesławiec County, was also consecrated. As stated on the office’s website, it was “an expression of appreciation for the service performed by the soldiers and the regiment’s importance to the county’s residents.”

A letter from, among others, the deputy prime minister in Donald Tusk’s government and Minister of National Defence Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz was also read out.

The ceremony concluded with two parades: of soldiers and equipment. A cannon salute was also fired.

During the ceremony, the commander of the celebrating unit, Col. Rafał Grzywiński, also recalled that it would become a brigade.
