On February 20 this year, 134 people were accepted into service in the Lower Silesian Police, 2 of them began their service at the District Police Headquarters in Bolesławiec.
On March 6, an oath-taking ceremony was held in the Knights’ Hall of Wrocław City Hall – new police officers from across the province recited the words of the oath:
I, a citizen of the Republic of Poland, aware of the duties I am undertaking as a police officer, solemnly swear:
to serve the Nation faithfully, to protect the legal order established by the Constitution of the Republic of Poland,
to safeguard the security of the State and its citizens, even at the risk of my life.
In carrying out the tasks entrusted to me, I swear to diligently observe the law, remain faithful to the constitutional organs of the Republic of Poland,
to observe service discipline and carry out the orders and instructions of my superiors.
I swear to protect secrets connected with the service, the honor, dignity and good name of the service, and to observe the principles of professional ethics.
The Bolesławiec command summarizes:
The oath-taking ceremony is the first important event in the careers of newly accepted police officers. In preparation for the ceremony, each officer learns the principles of drill and police ceremonial protocol so that, in the presence of family members and future superiors, they can solemnly recite the words of the oath. The recruits face several months of training, after which they will ensure the safety of citizens in their respective counties.
And adds:
The District Police Commander in Bolesławiec invites everyone interested in serving to visit the local unit and begin the recruitment procedure.
