At the dead of night, police officers from the Bolesławiec County Police Headquarters noticed a motorcyclist travelling at high speed in the city centre. – Despite the lights and sirens used by the officers, the rider ignored their orders and began to flee. He was stopped after several kilometres, and the reason for his behaviour soon became clear – reports Asp. Staff Monika Kaleta from the Lower Silesian Voivodeship Police Headquarters in Wrocław.

The motorcycle he was riding had been stolen. It was stolen in November from an underground garage in Wrocław, and its value was more than PLN 22,000.

In addition, the motorcycle had licence plates assigned to another vehicle.

That was not the end of it. The spokesperson said: – Furthermore, police officers established in their systems that the man had a lifetime ban on driving motor vehicles, and a drug test indicated the presence of amphetamine in his system.

The 37-year-old from Środa County was also wanted by courts in Wrocław, Bolesławiec and Tarnowskie Góry. In total, the man has 3 years and 8 months of imprisonment to serve for drug offences, property damage and deriving financial benefits from another person’s prostitution.

The arrested man has already been taken to prison. He will face further charges in connection with offences committed in Bolesławiec County and possession of an object originating from a crime. The perpetrator had been convicted before, so as a repeat offender he faces an increased sentence.
