The incident occurred during the night of February 28 to March 1. After midnight, firefighters from Gromadka were dispatched to a chimney fire in the village of Nowa Kuźnia.

The danger was eliminated and, fortunately, no one was injured. At the scene were OSP KSRG Gromadka, OSP Nowa Kuźnia, JRG Bolesławiec and a ladder truck from Nowogrodziec.

Firefighters from Nowa Kuźnia:

Dear Sir or Madam,

Concerned for your safety and that of your families, we remind you of the obligation to carry out periodic technical inspections in houses and apartments.
To avoid chimney-flue fires, chimney flues—smoke, exhaust and ventilation—must be regularly inspected and cleaned in accordance with applicable regulations.

They also add:

Regular removal of soot and contaminants significantly reduces the risk of ignition and carbon monoxide poisoning.

To prevent fires related to electrical installations, we remind you that the electrical system must undergo a periodic inspection at least once every five years. The inspection should be carried out by a person with the appropriate qualifications. Checking the condition of wires, connections, protective devices and grounding makes it possible to detect damage and prevent short circuits and fires.
Regular inspections are not only an obligation—without them, we may not receive insurance compensation—but above all an investment in safety.

Yours faithfully,
Fire Service
