Thanks to effective police operational work, a 29-year-old resident of the Wielkopolskie Voivodeship was arrested on suspicion of theft committed on September 10 last year at one of the medical facilities in Jelenia Góra.

Police headquarters:

Investigators determined that the man took advantage of a momentary lapse in the staff’s attention and stole cash amounting to more than PLN 1,000. He then left the facility and departed from Jelenia Góra.

Officers:

The case required detailed analysis and intensive operational work. The information gathered enabled the officers to establish the suspect’s identity and bring about his arrest.

During the proceedings, the 29-year-old admitted that he had been visiting the region as a tourist – he had come to Szklarska Poręba for a party. When he ran out of money needed to return home, he said, he decided to “look for an opportunity.”

The man was charged with theft. He faces up to 5 years in prison for the offense. His further fate will be decided by the court.

Police:

❗ We remind you that even a momentary lapse in attention can be exploited by people looking for an opportunity to commit a crime. Let us exercise caution and properly secure money and valuable items, especially in public places.
