After falling from a considerable height, the girl was conscious and was transported to a hospital in Jelenia Góra. According to the officers' findings, the 34-year-old was caring for his five-year-old daughter.
At that time, the child fell from the balcony of an apartment on the fourth floor of a multi-family building on Szkolna Street in Olszyna. The police determined that the man was intoxicated. A test showed 1.7 per mille of alcohol in his system.
The 34-year-old was detained and taken to police custody. Today, he was presented with prosecutorial charges of exposing a child to danger.
As reported by the eluban.pl service, quoting Ewa Węglarowicz-Makowska, press spokeswoman for the Jelenia Góra District Prosecutor's Office:
The man was charged with intentionally exposing the five-year-old child to the immediate danger of loss of life and serious damage to health, as well as causing bodily injuries resulting in a health disorder lasting more than seven days.
The man pleaded guilty and gave an explanation. He had not been previously convicted. He was placed under police supervision. He faces between three months and five years in prison.
