Bolesławiec traffic police checked a total of more than 340 drivers during the two-day “Sobriety” operation in our county. During the operation in the Warta Bolesławiecka municipality, a 36-year-old man was detained. Bolesławiec police headquarters said: “The test for alcohol in his system was negative. However, a drug test showed that the driver had been driving under the influence of a narcotic substance. The man will now answer for his conduct before the court.

An Estonian national was also detained during the operation. Road Transport Inspection officers found that the 56-year-old truck driver had been drinking alcohol. The test showed nearly half a per mille of alcohol in his system.

Bolesławiec police officers were called to the scene and detained the foreign national. The 56-year-old appeared before the court under an expedited procedure and received a sentence for the offense.

The officers announce:

Increased sobriety checks will be repeated regularly, at different times and in different locations across the county.

The goal? Police: “To effectively remove from the roads people who pose a danger to other road users.
