Police officers detained a 41-year-old resident of Legnica County who violated the bans issued against him on approaching and contacting his wife, as well as the order to leave the jointly occupied premises. – The man, being intoxicated, also tried to flee from the patrol – explains Commissioner Jagoda Ekiert, press officer of KMP in Legnica. – Today he will be taken to the prosecutor’s office, where he will hear the charges.

The incident occurred in the Chojnów municipality. – The day before, legal measures were applied against the 41-year-old in connection with domestic violence, including a police order to leave the home immediately, a ban on approaching the victim and a ban on contacting her. In addition, he was subject to precautionary measures issued by the prosecutor’s office – the spokeswoman lists.

Domestic violence is not limited to physical aggression. It also includes threats, intimidation, controlling behaviour, property damage and creating a sense of fear and subordination. The commissioner:

Such behaviour is a crime and is met with a firm response from the Police every time. In this case, despite the bans in force, the man appeared at the woman’s residence, made criminal threats against her and damaged property.

The officers immediately took action to detain the aggressor. They spotted the vehicle driven by the 41-year-old and attempted to stop him for an inspection. The driver failed to respond to the light and sound signals and continued driving towards a forest road.

After several kilometres, he abandoned the car and fled on foot. He was detained shortly afterwards.

A breathalyser test showed that the man was intoxicated. In addition, his driving licence had been suspended by an administrative decision.

Ultimately, the 41-year-old was placed in police custody. Today, the detainee will be taken to the prosecutor’s office, where he will hear the charges.
