At the request of the District Prosecutor in Bolesławiec, the court ordered the temporary detention of the 40-year-old resident of Bolesławiec County for three months. The man is suspected of domestic violence against his mother and sister and of threatening to kill them.
– It was established that, from 17 June 2025 to 6 February 2026, the perpetrator physically and psychologically abused members of his family – reports Ewa Węglarowicz-Makowska from the District Prosecutor’s Office in Jelenia Góra. – The man had abused alcohol for years and, when under its influence, started unjustified arguments during which he insulted his mother and sister using words commonly regarded as offensive. He demanded money from them to buy more alcohol and demanded that they move out of the apartment.
Moreover, he pushed and kicked his sister and threw household objects at her.
During this time, he also threatened the victims with death, burning down the house and killing their pets.
The women feared that he would carry out these threats because the perpetrator had previously been convicted by the courts many times, including for abusing them. He most recently left prison on 15 January 2025, having served a one-year-and-eight-month prison sentence for similar offences.
The suspect, who now faces up to 7.5 years in prison, partly admitted to the alleged offence. He provided explanations.
