At the beginning of February, we received from a Reader a recording from the end of January showing an MZK bus driver running a red light at the Karola Miarki–Jeleniogórska–Podgórna intersection.
The Reader accompanied the recording with the ironic comment, “Safe public transport in Bolesławiec.”
We asked the Bolesławiec company about the matter. Urszula Dzięgiel from MZK Bolesławiec said:
I would like to inform you that we had not previously been notified of such an incident.
She added:
Because the bus number cannot be read in the submitted recording, we are currently determining which of our drivers ran a red light at the Karola Miarki–Podgórna intersection. Disciplinary consequences will be taken against this driver in accordance with the Work Regulations in force at our company.
She also added:
I hope that such incidents involving our drivers violating the provisions of the Highway Code will not happen again.
