On 21 January 2026, at approximately 11:20 a.m., the incident occurred in the vicinity of the PKP stop on Jana Pawła II Street in Jelenia Góra. The local police department reports:

A train running on the Świeradów-Zdrój–Jelenia Góra route struck a 48-year-old woman who was walking along the tracks.

Police: – 🚑 The injured woman suffered injuries and was immediately provided with medical assistance. Procedural activities are currently underway at the scene.

The officers add:

⛔ Due to the ongoing operations, rail traffic in the area has been temporarily suspended. Please follow the instructions of the emergency services and the carrier's announcements.

And they add:
