Almost every winter, when observing the roads, we can see that many drivers forget that clearing snow and ice from their vehicle is their responsibility. Police: – Drivers who did not have enough time to scrape off the ice often travel with a scraped-out slit through which they can see anything at all—such driving can have tragic consequences.

Driving with a layer of snow on the roof or with windows covered in ice endangers not only the drivers and passengers of such vehicles, but also other drivers. A layer of ice on the windows limits our visibility, while snow falling as the vehicle moves makes driving more difficult for drivers travelling behind us.

The officers appeal:

When driving a car, the driver must always have an adequate field of vision.

And they add:

Let us be responsible for ourselves and for other road users and spend these few minutes thoroughly clearing snow and ice from our vehicles.

They also emphasize: – Apart from the fact that driving an uncleared vehicle endangers our safety, it is also an offence for which we may receive a fine of up to PLN 3,000.

How can this be avoided?

Police:

However, avoiding the fine is simple—just comply with the applicable regulations and thereby respect others on the road, while remembering that we are not alone on the road. Let us also remember to keep license plates and headlights legible and clear.
