Winter weather is a time when road conditions can change from minute to minute 🌨️🌫️. Wet surfaces, fog, snowfall and icy roads significantly increase stopping distances ⚠️. Police appeal to drivers to exercise particular caution, adjust their speed to the prevailing road conditions and remain more focused behind the wheel 👀🚗.
They add:
Remember 👇
🚦 take your foot off the accelerator – even if you think visibility is good,
↔️ keep a safe distance from the vehicle ahead,
❄️ switch to winter tires if you have not done so yet – this is not only a matter of comfort, but above all of safety,
🛑 avoid sudden maneuvers – wet and slippery surfaces do not forgive mistakes.
