The final of the 5th County Carols, Pastorales and Christmas and New Year Songs Competition, held under the honorary patronage of the Bolesławiec County Starost Mr Tomasz Gabrysiak, took place on 10 December 2025 at the Old Theatre in Bolesławiec. The competition was organised by the County Centre for Education and Staff Training in Bolesławiec.
The competition consisted of two stages—the school and county stages. The school eliminations, which continued until 3 December 2025, selected representatives of schools and institutions from Bolesławiec County. Soloists or groups took part in the following categories:
- Grades 4–6 of primary school
- Grades 7–8 of primary school
- Grades 1–2 of post-primary schools
- Grades 3–5 of post-primary schools.
During the ceremonial final, the audience heard traditional carols and contemporary Christmas songs in Polish, as well as in German, English and French.
Thirty-seven students performed in the final, of whom 26 were selected as winners.
The performances were assessed by a jury consisting of:
– Sylwia Chruszcz – chair of the County Competition Committee,
– Katarzyna Zięba – member of the County Competition Committee,
– Dariusz Uściński – member of the County Competition Committee.
The committee considered the following criteria:
- Selection of repertoire appropriate to the performer's age and vocal abilities.
- Performance technique.
- Intonation
- Overall artistic impression.
- Vocal abilities.
- Interpretation and originality of performance.
While the jury deliberated, PCEiKK prepared a surprise for the audience in the form of a group Christmas karaoke activity.
Each participant received a certificate, while the winners received prizes funded by the Bolesławiec County Office.
Congratulations to the winners and all participants, as well as their parents and guardians.
