Mayor Piotr Roman, while presenting a report on the most important activities undertaken between sessions at the November meeting of the Bolesławiec City Council, mentioned that local authorities do not contribute to the operating costs of the passport office in Bolesławiec. This is despite the fact that the city authorities had asked them to do so. – So far, I have received two written responses. Both are negative – the mayor stated.

He informed the councillors that he had asked the governor for passports from our office to be handled by Legnica rather than—as before—Jelenia Góra. – For purely logistical reasons, and no others – stressed the head of the Bolesławiec City Office. – It will be much easier and much cheaper if we transport these passports to Legnica.

He also added that on the day of the session, travelling to Legnica would not have been a problem, but reaching Jelenia Góra certainly would have been. (The November meeting of the Bolesławiec City Council took place on a day when winter struck and road workers could not keep up with clearing the routes of snow.)

Note: this is not about closing the office in Bolesławiec, but about logistical issues.
