Officers from the Bolesławiec County Police Headquarters conducted enforcement and preventive activities. The goal? To check whether drivers were complying with the applicable speed limits and taking care of their own safety and that of other road users.
During the operation, police checked 38 vehicles and found that 17 drivers had exceeded the permitted speed. The officers reported: – The most serious violation occurred in a built-up area, where a driver who should have been travelling at a maximum speed of 40 km/h was driving as fast as 99 km/h.
As a result, a 36-year-old resident of Bolesławiec County lost his driving licence for three months.
That was not all. Two drivers were also caught driving despite court-imposed bans, and one of them was additionally under the influence of alcohol.
Police remind drivers:
Excessive speed significantly increases braking distance, reduces reaction time and dramatically raises the risk of tragic road accidents.
