The Jelenia Góra District Prosecutor’s Office has filed an indictment with the District Court in Zgorzelec against a psychiatrist, accusing her of certifying false information in documents in order to obtain financial gain. – The irregularities concern the period from March 2020 to 20 August 2021, when the psychiatrist, at a private medical practice in Zgorzelec and Sieniawka, issued 168 Polish citizens employed in the Czech Republic with certificates falsely stating that they were unfit for work – explains Ewa Węglarowicz-Makowska, press spokesperson for the Jelenia Góra District Prosecutor’s Office.
She adds: – Those concerned contacted the accused by telephone or text message, providing her with the personal details necessary to issue a sick note, the period for which they wanted to receive it, and their country of employment. They then collected the document from the doctor themselves, paying her between PLN 100 and PLN 200 for each sick note issued. These people were neither examined nor consulted by her.
