The incident occurred on November 18 this year. – Duty officer at the command center of the Lubań County Police Headquarters received a report concerning an aggressive man who had most likely doused his neighbors’ entrance door with petrol – reports asp. szt. Monika Kaleta from the Press Section of the Lower Silesian Provincial Police Headquarters in Wrocław.

A patrol of community police officers was immediately dispatched to the scene. Spokesperson: – According to the police officers’ findings, the suspect had first threatened his neighbors with death. Then, wanting to confirm his words through actions, he poured petrol under the door of their apartment. He went even further with other people – he doused their vehicle with the flammable liquid while repeating his threats, this time holding an axe in his hand.

The police officers went to the door of the apartment of the man who was allegedly responsible for the acts described above. The door was locked, but they could hear the aggressor shouting vulgar words at the officers from inside. Through the door, he also announced that he was not alone, because his family was inside as well.

Witnesses told the police officers that the man had threatened to set the building on fire, claiming that he had a canister of flammable substance with him. As a result, additional patrols and the fire service were called to the scene.

Ultimately, the police officers used specialized tools to force their way through the apartment door. Inside, they found the aggressive man, with a canister filled with petrol beside him. Policewoman:

However, there were no bystanders there, contrary to what the suspect had previously claimed. The apartment was quite messy. After checking the rooms and searching the detained man, it turned out that he had drugs on him. According to the tester, it was methamphetamine, which was secured as evidence in the case. Police officers will determine whether the man was acting under its influence.

The aggressor was taken to a police detention facility. Meanwhile, investigators began gathering evidence and carrying out the necessary procedural activities. The court granted the prosecutor’s and police’s request and ordered three months of pretrial detention for the 40-year-old resident of Lubań County. The perpetrator faces up to three years in prison for the offense.

No one was injured in the incident, but the situation posed a real threat to the life and health of not only the residents of the apartment block, but also the police officers intervening and other services called to the scene. Thanks to the officers’ swift and decisive response, tragedy was avoided.
