Officers from the Police Station in Nowogrodziec took action to conduct a roadside check of a passenger vehicle. Despite the police officers’ use of light and sound signals, the driver did not stop. After driving a short distance, he abandoned his car on the roadside and continued fleeing on foot.
Excellent knowledge of the area enabled the officers to quickly locate and detain the 36-year-old in a nearby forest. During a search of the man, the officers found methamphetamine. The resident of Bolesławiec tried to flee when he saw the police because he has two active driving bans issued by the District Court in Legnica.
The suspect will be held responsible for failing to stop for a roadside check, possessing narcotic substances and violating court-imposed bans. He faces up to five years in prison.
