The incident occurred on 28 September, at around 6:50 p.m., on Wincentego Pola Street in Jelenia Góra. Police officers attempted to stop the driver for a traffic check, but the 27-year-old failed to follow their order. On the contrary, he began to flee.

During the pursuit, the man committed further traffic offences. He overtook at an intersection and over a double solid line, and also failed to give way to other vehicles.

The flight ended on Hallerczyków Street. After driving several kilometres, the 27-year-old lost control of the car and hit properly parked vehicles.

A moment later, the man was arrested by police officers. During further proceedings, officers determined that the 27-year-old did not have the required driving licence.

Police also suspected that the driver might have been driving under the influence of intoxicating substances. Blood was taken from the man for laboratory tests. Only the results of these tests will show whether he was under the influence of drugs at the time of the incident.

The 27-year-old will answer for failing to stop for a check, driving a vehicle without the required licence, and the offences committed during the flight.

Moreover, if laboratory tests confirm the presence of intoxicating substances, the man may also face an additional charge.

Police remind the public that an order to stop issued by an officer must be obeyed immediately. Fleeing from a traffic check may pose a serious danger to other road users.
