Competition stages
From May to July this year, qualifying rounds were held at all city and district police headquarters in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship. A total of 394 officers who perform duty-service functions at command posts on a daily basis took part.
Police officers from the Police Staff of the Provincial Police Headquarters in Wrocław then organized the second stage of the competition, for which 30 officers qualified. Eight officers with the highest test scores entered the final, third stage.
The provincial final was held at the headquarters of the Provincial Police Headquarters in Wrocław. Participants took a knowledge test covering legal regulations and duty-service procedures, followed by situational simulations at a command post. One of the tasks involved handling a report concerning a “police officer” scam while simultaneously coordinating operations related to another serious incident.
The duty officer of a police unit plays a key role in ensuring the smooth and effective operation of every police headquarters. This officer is often the first to receive information about incidents, analyze it and dispatch the appropriate police forces and resources to the scene. The effectiveness of the actions taken and the safety of citizens depend on the officer’s professionalism, composure and knowledge.
