The Infrastructure Department of the Zgorzelec Municipal Office announces that the closure date of the border bridge named after John Paul II has changed.
For organizational and technical reasons, the bridge will be completely closed to vehicular traffic from October 27, 2025 (Monday) at 10:00 a.m. until November 14, 2025 (Friday).
Zgorzelec municipal authorities:
(...) due to the need to carry out necessary repair work, the border bridge named after John Paul II will be completely closed to vehicular traffic from October 24, 2025 (Friday) to November 14, 2025 (Friday).
Officials explain: – The bridge closure is necessary to carry out urgent repair and maintenance work aimed at ensuring the safety of all users and improving the technical condition of the facility.
They add:
At the same time, we inform you that we will make every effort to reopen the bridge as soon as possible – we anticipate restoring traffic after the work is completed on November 14, 2025. If the work is completed earlier, we will announce the earlier reopening of the bridge.
