As reported by the Lubań police:
Over the past weekend, a disturbing incident occurred. A man under the influence of alcohol started a row with two women of Ukrainian origin. During the argument, he displayed a gas pistol and threatened the women present with it.
Fortunately, no one was injured, and thanks to the police’s swift response and intervention, the attacker was detained. The officers said: – The man was charged with making criminal threats on the grounds of national origin, namely under Article 119, paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code.
Moreover, the perpetrator was subjected to preventive measures in the form of police supervision and a ban on contacting the injured party.

What happened evokes enormous emotions—fear, anger, but also sadness, because such things should never happen at all. Not in any place where people come to spend time together and feel safe.
This situation shows that hatred and intolerance are still present in our society. And although it often seems that this problem is “somewhere else,” it can in fact affect us all, even in a place that seemingly inspires calm and a sense of security.
