As reported by Bolesławiec County:

In connection with the implementation of tasks in the field of civil protection and civil defence, pursuant to the decision of the Minister of Finance and Economy, the Bolesławiec County Office received funds totalling PLN 1,823,991.46.

What will the money be spent on?

The County Office explains: “The funding will be used for activities related to improving residents’ safety and strengthening the technical resources of services responsible for responding to crisis situations.

The planned tasks include, among other things:

  • equipping the county flood-relief warehouse with the necessary equipment for rescue operations,
  • purchasing two medical transport vehicles,
  • equipping units with personal protective equipment,
  • an investment purchase of less than PLN 50,000, in accordance with the County Office’s needs.

Additionally, Bolesławiec County received PLN 700,000 in subsidies for the implementation of tasks arising from the Act on Civil Protection and Civil Defence. Of this amount, PLN 200,000 will be allocated to changing the project for the expansion of the County Office headquarters, while PLN 500,000 will be used to prepare a project for the construction of a facility—a shelter—on the grounds of St. Luke’s Hospital in Bolesławiec.

The office concludes: “The funds awarded are part of a broader programme supporting efforts to protect the population. They will make it possible to increase the readiness of services and respond more effectively in hazardous situations.
