As reported by the Zgorzelec police:
Police officers from the Traffic Department and a forensic technician worked at the scene under the supervision of a prosecutor. According to preliminary findings, the 34-year-old driver of a Renault failed to adjust her speed to the prevailing road conditions, (...) left the road onto the shoulder on a bend, and then overturned. Unfortunately, the woman died at the scene as a result of her injuries. The 11-year-old passenger was taken to hospital.
The incident occurred on October 8, at approximately 7:00 p.m., on provincial road no. 296, between Węgliniec and Czerwona Woda. Zgorzelec firefighters reported:
For reasons not yet established, a passenger car left the roadway, cut down roadside trees, and then overturned.
They added:
One adult died at the scene as a result of the incident. The minor traveling with her was injured and placed in the care of medical services.
The police and prosecutor’s office are determining the causes and circumstances of the incident.
