The Lower Silesian Junior and Younger Junior Championships were held on May 7 in Bogatynia. Representatives of MKS Bolesłavia won as many as 29 medals, including 8 gold and 8 silver. Agnieszka Dalmata, last year’s Polish Younger Junior champion (the National Youth Olympics in Zielona Góra), confirmed her class in the junior category as well, winning two gold medals.
Among the athletes competing in middle-distance events, Bartosz Wróbel, coached by Małgorzata Markowska, gave the best performance. Beata Dąbal won silver in two events, the shot put and discus throw. The Bolesłavia athlete currently leads the national rankings in the shot put in her age category. Younger Junior Ewa Ochocka also deserves praise after recording the best time in the Younger Junior girls’ qualifying race.
The championship gold medals were won by: Grzegorz Szuszkiewicz (hammer throw), Agnieszka Bosek (hammer throw and javelin), Agnieszka Dalmata (shot put and discus throw), Justyna Mieniek (triple jump), Maciej Chojnacki (400 m hurdles) and Bartosz Wróbel (1500 m).
Silver medals went to: Maciej Chojnacki (110 m hurdles), Justyna Mieniek (long jump), Agnieszka Bosek (shot put), Beata Dąbal (shot put and discus throw), Katarzyna Sadlak (triple jump), Katarzyna Jankowska (high jump), as well as the 4 x 100 m relay team (Kaja Caban, Agnieszka Bosek, Dominika Kamińska, Beata Dąbal and Katarzyna Jankowska).
Bronze medals were won by: Marek Pławiak (octathlon), Patryk Pieczarka (decathlon), Sebastian Drozd (hammer throw), Katarzyna Jankowska (100 m hurdles), Grzegorz Szuszkiewicz (shot put), Hubert Erhardt (400 m hurdles), Kaja Caban (high jump), Beata Cieśla (800 m), Marcin Zgodziński (javelin throw), Karol Wojdyła (high jump). Katarzyna Jankowska (javelin throw), Dominika Kamińska (1500 m) and Eryka Baran (quadruple jump).
