Border guards from Zgorzelec, while performing duties on 30 September as part of the temporary border checks, selected a Fiat Ducato camper with German registration plates for inspection. – The driver of the detained vehicle turned out to be a 48-year-old Lithuanian national – reports Staff Warrant Officer Małgorzata Potoczna of the Nadodrze Border Guard Unit.

After checking the registration number and VIN in the Border Guard information databases, it turned out that the vehicle had been reported stolen in Germany.

The outcome? The vehicle was secured and placed in a guarded car park, where it is awaiting handover to its rightful owner.

Spokesperson: – The vehicle was valued at over PLN 200,000, making it a particularly valuable prize for thieves.
