As the Świętoszów unit reported yesterday:
Training for the Voluntary Basic Military Service has begun in #10BKPanc.
The Homeland Defence Act introduced a new type of military service—the voluntary basic military service. It is a form of military service intended for all those who have never previously served in the military. It makes it possible to complete military training and, in the future, join the reserves or enter the professional army.
Until recently, people interested in military service could, for example—apart from studying at a military academy or completing an officer or non-commissioned officer course—apply for preparatory service. However, this last option was abolished by the Homeland Defence Act, which has been in force since 23 April 2022. A new proposal for active service for volunteers—the voluntary basic military service—was introduced in place of preparatory service. Enlisting is the first step toward being called up to serve in the Polish Armed Forces.
