Officers from the Independent Prevention Police Unit in Legnica launched a pursuit of a Toyota driver who failed to stop for a roadside check. – The incident took place on one of the city’s streets. The officers gave visual and audible signals ordering the vehicle to stop – reports asp. szt. Monika Kaleta from the Press Section of the Provincial Police Headquarters in Wrocław. – The driver, a 66-year-old resident of Legnica, ignored them and began fleeing towards Pątnów Legnicki. At one point, he lost control of the car and ended up in a roadside ditch.

The police immediately helped the man and checked the reason for his escape.

And here comes the surprise! The spokesperson: – It turned out that the Legnica resident had a driving licence, was sober, was not under the influence of drugs and was not wanted. As he admitted himself, he could not explain why he had failed to stop for the check.

We remind you that failing to stop for a roadside check is a crime punishable by up to five years in prison, as well as the loss of a driving licence. Such behaviour poses a huge threat to other road users and the driver himself.
