The District Prosecutor’s Office in Lwówek Śląski is supervising an investigation into a case against a 54-year-old man suspected of insulting paramedics using words commonly regarded as offensive, threatening to kill them, and violating their bodily integrity.
The incident occurred on September 17, 2025, at around 1:00 p.m., at one of the health resort centers in Świeradów-Zdrój, where the offender was staying as a patient on a rehabilitation program. – An Emergency Medical Services team was called to a man staying at the center who had a head injury and was under the influence of alcohol. According to the report, he had previously lost consciousness – reports Ewa Węglarowicz-Makowska, press spokesperson for the Regional Prosecutor’s Office in Jelenia Góra.
Upon arriving at the scene, the paramedics determined, due to the head injuries, that the patient required further medical assistance. The spokesperson said: – For this reason, they decided to take him to hospital.
At the scene, the offender directed his aggression at the paramedics. The prosecutor’s office said:
He verbally abused them with vulgar words commonly regarded as offensive, threatened to kill them, and on the way, while he was being led to the ambulance, punched one of the paramedics in the right shoulder and the other in the chest.
These threats caused the injured parties to have a justified fear that they would be carried out, because the offender did not calm down while they were providing him with assistance; he moved from gestures and threats to violating their bodily integrity.
After being taken to the prosecutor’s office in Lwówek, the man was charged. He faces up to 3 years in prison.
The suspect did not plead guilty. He gave an explanation, stating that he was drunk at the time of the incident and remembered nothing.
The 54-year-old had no previous criminal record.
