As reported by the Bezpieczna Przystań Animal Aid Foundation:
This is a story of a fight for life. A story of pain, despair, but also hope.
This is the story of a kitten who had almost everything to lose… and two women who did not walk past indifferently.
Marzena and Kornelia – this kitten is still alive thanks to them.
When they saw him, he was already a shadow of a cat. Young, terribly emaciated, almost nothing but skin and bones. He came out from under a Biedronka, where the smell of kebab lured him toward people – toward food, toward rescue. But no one reacted. No one, until that day…
And adds:
Marzena had food with her – it saved his life. The kitten did not run away, as if he no longer had the strength. Kornelia quickly called us. We agreed – without hesitation. They ran for a carrier, for a car... and that is how he came to us. A little warrior.
And adds:
But what we saw after opening the carrier...
It cannot be described in words.
The stench of a decomposing body hit us. Saliva was running from his mouth. One eye – a single large, suppurating
focus of pain. In his cheek... a hole right through it. And inside – fly larvae.
This cat was dying.
In pain, fear and solitude.
And yet – he wanted to live.
And adds:
We could not wait. We immediately administered painkillers. And we prayed that he would make it through the night.
I took him to the clinic. The doctors took care of him immediately.
Several hours later, the phone rang.
The decay was removed and the wound cleaned. The eye was lost. The tissue was destroyed.
But... he is alive. And he is fighting.
And also sums up:
A long road lies ahead of us.
We do not know whether he will survive. We do not know how badly his body has been poisoned.
But we know one thing for certain: we must not give up.
We do not know what happened to him. Was he bitten? Hit by a vehicle? Left to die?
We only know that human indifference almost killed him.
And now we need the help of kind-hearted people to save him completely.
