Our editorial office was contacted by a reader, who alerted us about another injured cat. It is possible that it was shot. The reporting woman:

Another free-roaming cat, currently being fed by kind people, appeared at their home with serious injuries that may indicate that it was shot with an air rifle. (...) The attached photographs show injuries, but these are not all the wounds the animal has.

The reader stresses that, according to her account, this is not the first such case in this part of Bolesławiec. Several years ago, a cat belonging to her family was also allegedly shot. The animal did not survive:

What is particularly disturbing is that this is not the first such case. Several years ago, a cat belonging to my family was also shot in this area. Unfortunately, the animal died as a result of its injuries.

She added:

Now the situation is repeating itself—a cat has been seriously injured again.

And concludes:

This raises concerns that someone is deliberately shooting at cats that go outside, and that the perpetrator may still be operating in the area.

Where?

In her report, the reader indicates that the incident probably occurred in the area of Piotra Skargi, Leśna and Willowa streets. But she immediately adds:

I do not want to publicly point to a specific person without clear evidence.

She stresses:

However, I want the matter to be publicized and treated seriously, because if this really is deliberate shooting at animals, the next victim could be another cat.

The woman also intends to report the matter both to the authorities and to organizations involved in animal protection:

I do not want to wait until another cat comes home with wounds—or does not come home at all.

We will ask the police about the matter next week. We will report on the authorities’ findings.

If anyone has information about similar cases in the City of Ceramics, please contact the police.
