Officers from the Police Station in Leśna, while on duty in Lubań County, stopped a passenger vehicle for a roadside inspection. – A 32-year-old Ukrainian citizen was behind the wheel. During the identity check, a strong smell of alcohol was noticeable on him – reports Assistant Commissioner Justyna Bujakiewicz-Rodzeń.
The test showed more than 1.6‰ of alcohol in his breath.
That was not the end of it. The spokesperson said: – During further proceedings, the man tried to offer the officers a financial benefit of PLN 4,000, taking out a bundle of banknotes and attempting to hand it to the police officers.
The foreign national was detained, and the vehicle he had been driving was towed to a police car park. The prosecutor’s office brought charges against the suspect. He faces up to 10 years in prison.
The foreign national was also placed under police supervision and banned from leaving the country.
