“They praise us. You praise me, and I praise you.”
No one was as pleased with the Ceramic Festival as President Piotr Roman. According to the president, the only problem at the festival was people bringing their own drinks instead of buying them at the food stalls.
– Not everyone was able to make proper use of the attractions associated with our Bolesławiec food and beverage businesses either – said Piotr Roman, summarizing the 31st Ceramic Festival at a session. – There is a new fashion, I see it among young people. Maybe it is connected with some impoverishment of society. Walking around with such a bottle in one’s hand. It is very interesting because it testifies to these people’s poverty: they cannot afford to buy beer in a cup. Sorry, some drink offered by the food vendors. Therefore, I appeal to these people to try not to set a bad example in the future. And this is a certain problem, and this problem will have to be resolved somehow – the president added.
I walked around, asked, and saw
When speaking about how he collected information about the Ceramic Festival, Piotr Roman mentioned a method we might provisionally call “I walked around, asked, and saw.” According to his words, satisfied people approached the president and spoke enthusiastically about the Ceramic Festival. On this basis, Piotr Roman formed his opinion about the organization of the festival and its attractions.
– I would like to thank everyone who became involved in organizing this exceptionally successful festival – said Piotr Roman at the session on August 27. – At least these are the opinions reaching me, and every year I collect these opinions. I will say that this year I probably received the greatest number of very positive opinions, some of them enthusiastic, and from very diverse sources. Starting with visitors from outside, through those who sold goods and provided services, and ending with ordinary residents who attended this festival as recipients of that service – the president added.
Therefore, if Piotr Roman does not change his method of collecting data about the city’s most important event, residents can be sure that nothing will change in the festival’s format, which he developed at the direction of President Kornel Filipowicz.
Silence about the angel who descended from the town hall tower
In his eulogy praising the festival, the president did not mention the nearly 70-year-old restaurateur dressed as an angel with the keys to the city, who descended from the town hall on a rope. The restaurateur received 15,000 zlotys for this. The omission is incomprehensible, because this was the most widely discussed event of the 31st Bolesławiec Ceramic Festival. How did residents who may not have spoken with Piotr Roman assess it? Here is an example comment:
The idea was good, but the execution was TERRIBLE. He was hanging there, and it was obvious that something was not going as it should. Idea 8/10, acrobatics 1/10, execution 1/10. But of course, if a professional had done it, Boguś would have had to pay, while there he takes the entire 15,000 himself. The tsar pays, Boguś obediently carries it out.
