Police officers, serving side by side with the Border Guard and other services, conduct selective checks of people and vehicles crossing the Polish-German border. The intensive operations carried out by police officers include verifying documents, checking the technical condition of vehicles, facilitating traffic flow, as well as checking people for possible records of being wanted by law enforcement authorities.
As part of the service lasting several weeks, police officers:
- identified more than 3,000 people,
- checked approximately 2,756 vehicles,
- detected 1,073 crimes and offences (unrelated to illegal migration).
No people attempting to illegally cross our country’s border were identified; however, 3 people staying illegally in the territory of the Republic of Poland were detained (since the beginning of the operations in the border area).
Joint patrols and inspection operations significantly help limit illegal activities in the border zone and improve the safety of the region’s residents. Cooperation between the Police and the Border Guard has shown that coordinated operations make it possible to respond effectively to threats and quickly eliminate undesirable incidents.
Dolnośląska Policja thanks all officers involved in service at the border, as well as residents and travellers, for their cooperation and understanding that the services’ operations are carried out with our shared safety in mind. We assure you that the operations will continue in order to counter current threats in the border area and throughout the entire voivodeship.
