Police officers from the District Police Headquarters in Bolesławiec conducted intensified road checks throughout the past long weekend in the county. Unit: – Officers identified as many as five intoxicated drivers who, through their irresponsible behavior, endangered other road users.

Friday, August 15

Traffic officers stopped a 56-year-old resident of Polkowice County. During the check, it turned out that the man was driving while intoxicated – a breathalyzer test showed nearly 1 promille of alcohol in his system.

Saturday, August 16

First, officers apprehended a 62-year-old from the Nowogrodziec municipality, who was driving on a public road with more than 1 promille of alcohol in his system. The same day, Bolesławiec traffic officers stopped a 65-year-old resident of the Gromadka municipality. The test showed that he had nearly 2 promille of alcohol in his system, yet he was driving a passenger car.

Sunday, August 17

Officers also stopped two intoxicated cyclists. After the tests were conducted, it turned out that both had nearly 2 promille of alcohol in their exhaled breath.

We remind you that driving a motor vehicle while intoxicated is a criminal offense punishable by up to 3 years in prison. Riding a bicycle after consuming alcohol, meanwhile, carries a heavy fine.
