On Saturday evening, officers from the Police Station in Gryfów Śląski were called to a road incident on national road No. 30. – The driver of an Audi, a 42-year-old resident of Lwówek County, failed to exercise due caution and drove into a roadside ditch – explains junior aspirant Olga Łukaszewicz, press officer for the Lwówek KPP. – Fortunately, no one was injured as a result of the incident.

During a conversation with the person involved in the collision, the officers smelled a strong odor of alcohol on him. A breathalyzer test showed more than 2 per mille of alcohol in his breath. The spokesperson: – While dealing with the incident, the man behaved aggressively, used vulgar language toward the officers, and also threatened to kill them.

The result? The irresponsible driver was arrested, and his vehicle was towed to a police parking lot.

After sobering up, the 42-year-old was charged with insulting officers, making criminal threats against them, and driving while intoxicated. The story has now reached its conclusion. Police:

Under expedited proceedings, the man appeared before the court. The judge sentenced him to a fine of PLN 8,000, a three-year driving ban, and ordered him to pay PLN 5,000 to the Fund for Aid to Victims and Post-Penitentiary Assistance.
