The District Police Headquarters in Zgorzelec received exceptional thanks for Senior Sergeant Joanna Podhalska from the Traffic Division, who demonstrated exceptional professionalism, composure and readiness to help while on duty. – Police officers from Zgorzelec were assigned to support security arrangements for a section of the Tour de Pologne cycling race, which passed through Legnica County. It was then that a very dangerous situation occurred: a young child choked on a candy – reports Senior Staff Sergeant Łukasz Porębski from the Press Section of the Provincial Police Headquarters. – Thanks to the policewoman’s quick and effective intervention, the child began breathing freely and regained full strength.

The aforementioned officer noticed a small child who was choking and losing the ability to breathe. Without hesitation, she rushed to help. Her quick reaction produced results. After a moment, the child was able to breathe freely and regained full strength.

An emergency medical team was called to the scene and examined the child. Fortunately, everything ended well; the boy was no longer in any danger. Spokesperson: – The policewoman also lifted the boy’s spirits by giving him reflective items.

The child’s family sent our headquarters a letter expressing their respect. It included, among other things, the following words:

Thanks to your dedication and knowledge, just a few seconds after you began acting, my son started breathing again and the danger was averted. I am deeply convinced that your quick reaction made it possible for me to look at my son today in good health, and gave our entire family a chance at a more peaceful life.
