The incident occurred on Monday, July 28, on the Bolesławiec bypass (DK 94), near Staroszkolna Street.
Before 6:00 p.m., four cars collided there. They were: a Ford with Bolesławiec registration plates, a Mercedes with Złotoryja registration plates, a Volkswagen with Bolesławiec registration plates, and an Audi with Legnica County registration plates.
Three fire service units, two emergency medical teams and the police are already at the scene. Additional fire service units are on their way.
Several people are seriously injured. They will be taken to hospital. An Air Ambulance Service helicopter is flying to transport the most seriously injured person.
The rescue operation is under way.
Traffic on the Bolesławiec bypass is blocked in both directions.
The cars are severely wrecked. There are many broken car parts scattered across the roadway.
This was one of the most serious accidents to occur on the Bolesławiec bypass in recent times.
The police are determining the cause of the incident.
