The project is to be completed by the end of 2006. The work will include the construction of a district heating network supplying heat to the military unit from the direction of Plac Pokoju. A district heating network with connections will also be built on the unit’s premises. In addition, 19 single- and dual-function heat substations will be installed. The military kitchen will be equipped with a gas boiler room, which will additionally supply hot water for the needs of the entire unit during the summer.

Connecting the military unit to the municipal district heating network will put a dozen or so small coal- and coke-fired boiler rooms out of operation. This will reduce air pollution and increase the heating company’s annual revenue by 13%.
