During a patrol in Oława, heading toward the A4 motorway, officers of the Customs and Tax Service from the Lower Silesian Customs and Tax Office in Wrocław were forced to make a sudden manoeuvre. They were trying to avoid a head-on collision with a motorhome that had suddenly moved into their lane.

– The vehicle hit the barriers by a bus bay, but did not stop and continued driving – reports Agnieszka Rzeźnicka-Gniadek, press spokesperson for the Lower Silesian KAS. – After travelling approximately 150 metres, the driver stopped the motorhome in the traffic lane.

No one was injured. Customs and Tax Service officers intervened at the scene, securing the area and beginning explanatory procedures.

The man refused medical assistance. He understood the officers’ instructions but did not want to provide detailed information.

A police patrol was called to the scene. Forensic technicians inspected the vehicle. The police established that the motorhome had been stolen in Germany.

The result? The man was detained. The police are handling the case.
