Officers from the District Officer Unit in Polkowice detained another drunk driver. This time, a 47-year-old driver of a passenger Opel fell into the hands of the uniformed officers. – The man was detained in connection with a road incident that occurred in the city center, near a local cinema – explains Senior Constable Łukasz Porębski from the Wrocław Provincial Police Headquarters.

He adds: – The circumstances of the collision and the breathalyzer test left no doubt as to the cause of the police intervention. After testing the 47-year-old, the device showed that he was intoxicated; the display showed 1.15 mg/l, which corresponds to more than 2.3‰ of alcohol.

The case will end up in court. Police:

The consequences of driving under the influence of alcohol are severe. A driver who is intoxicated or under the influence of narcotic substances receives a driving ban for at least three years, must pay a fine of at least 5,000 zlotys, and faces up to three years in prison. However, let us remember that getting behind the wheel after drinking alcohol endangers the safety of others.
