Bolesławiec County Starost Tomasz Gabrysiak signed an agreement with Marshal of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship Paweł Gancarz to implement one of the largest educational projects in the region – “Improving the quality of education in Bolesławiec County.” The initiative aims to strengthen the vocational skills of students and teachers, equip schools with modern technology, and prepare young people for the challenges of today’s labor market.
The project will be implemented under the European Funds for Lower Silesia 2021–2027 program, and its value exceeds PLN 5.4 million. The funds will be used to organize courses and training in areas including artificial intelligence, social media, programming, digital graphics and green skills, as well as driving, floristry and photovoltaic installer courses. A total of 844 students and 18 teachers from five county schools will benefit from the new offering:
- School Complex of Mechanical Engineering,
- School Complex of Construction,
- School Complex of General and Vocational Education,
- School Complex of Electronics,
- School Complex of Commerce and Services.
– We want to create a modern learning environment that responds to today’s challenges in a demanding market while also supporting students’ mental health – emphasizes Starost Tomasz Gabrysiak. – Modern teaching equipment and a rich range of courses will enable young people to gain practical skills and certificates that will improve their career prospects.
The project also includes psychological and educational support, remedial classes and career counseling. Nearly PLN 2 million will be allocated to equipping classrooms with modern tools and technologies.
The agreement signed by the Starost marks the symbolic beginning of an undertaking that will continue until March 2027. Its primary objective is to improve the quality of vocational education, increase access to modern teaching methods and prepare young people for working life in the digital economy.
