Aleksander Ulatowski, Aleksandra Jancelewicz, Krzysztof Kozicki, Monika Mankiewicz, Paweł Kośliński, Bartosz Prabucki and Anna Złotek. They all attend the third grade of the I Private Lower Secondary School in Bolesławiec. Each of them can boast the title of winner or finalist in prestigious regional competitions: zDolny Ślązak Gimnazjalisty and the Scientific League. The latter is co-organized by the XIV General Secondary School in Wrocław, one of the best in the country. “Our students received an invitation to that school,” says Stanisław Małkowski, headmaster of the I Private Lower Secondary School. “But local patriotism does not allow them to leave here. In the autumn, they will join the ranks of students at the I General Secondary School in Bolesławiec.”

“They are absolutely exceptional and versatile people. Modern-day Renaissance people,” Małkowski emphasizes. “They do not need to be encouraged to take part in competitions. One of our students is competing in as many as sixteen. That is why we try instead to guide our students and suggest worthwhile and important things to them.”

As the headmaster of the I Private Lower Secondary School emphasizes, the third-graders’ successes are also thanks to their teachers: Maria Łużniak, Cezary Czernatowicz, Hubert Prabucki, Andrzej Idzik, Małgorzata Myszka and Jolanta Kawula. “The entire teaching staff believes that knowledge is only the beginning and that it must be based on moral principles. There is no rat race here,” assures Stanisław Małkowski.
